West Ham United are set to offer Pedro Obiang a new deal in order to stave off interest from Sampdoria according to Football Insider.
What’s the story?
The 26-year-old has been at West Ham since 2015 and has gone on to make 67 appearances for the club, scoring three goals.
The midfielder has been linked with a move back to Sampdoria and it is believed the Italian club have lodged a £8.9million bid with West Ham.
However, it now appears Manuel Pellegrini is reluctant to sell Obiang and is prepared to offer him an improved contract as he sees him as an important part of his plans.

Big decision for Obiang
Pellegrini gas bolstered the midfield this summer following the signing of Jack Wilshere and Felipe Anderson, but he clearly sees Obiang having a role to play this season.
Sampdoria haven’t offered a massive amount of money for Obiang and West Ham are wise to try and dissuade him leaving as they will want a good squad if they want to aim for a high position in the league.
