A team that has just won the Premier League title may not need too much tweaking, but Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola is likely to jump into the market.

The North-West outfit could do with new wingers to provide competition for Raheem Sterling and Leroy Sane.

A defensive midfielder is also a requirement, and widespread reports have indicated that Napoli’s Jorginho, who has won two trophies with the Italian outfit, is on the club’s radar.

According to the Manchester Evening News, City are leading the race for the 26-year-old’s signature, while Manchester United are also thought to be keen.

The latest coming out of Italy is that Napoli are looking for a fee in the region of £61m.

Mcfcwatch.com cites Sky Italia as saying that club owner Aurelio De Laurentiis is demanding the hefty fee, which is around £20m more than the English champions are prepared to part with.

Napoli are certainly in a better negotiating position given that Jorginho’s contract does not expire until 2020 and there is no release clause.
